
The opposition party of Péter Magyar, “Tisza”, received 53.7% of the vote and won 138 seats in parliament out of 199. This is a constitutional majority.
“Fidesz” (the ruling party of Viktor Orban) will be represented by 55 deputies.
Orban acknowledged defeat. He said that the election results are very painful for him and promised that “Fidesz” will serve Hungary while in opposition.
