“The leader of the Hungarian opposition party ‘Tisza’, Péter Magyar, accused Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of organizing false flag provocations — actions aimed at creating the impression of an attack by an opponent, while in reality they serve political purposes. According to the politician, this is an attempt to sow fear ahead of the elections”, - reports Polish Radio.

Shortly before this, BBC reported that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, stated that on the territory of Serbia near the TurkStream gas pipeline, through which russian gas is supplied to Hungary, an explosive substance of “enormous destructive power” had been discovered.

In the published statement, Péter Magyar noted that for several weeks there had been signals about a possible incident related to gas infrastructure in Serbia, which, in his assessment, could be used for political purposes. He added that such actions may indicate that Viktor Orbán is “crossing a new line” — with the support of the Serbs and russians — against the backdrop of declining support for the ruling Fidesz party.

Péter Magyar addressed the Prime Minister with a call to invite him to a meeting of the Defense Council and provide full information on this issue. He also called on Viktor Orbán to resign, emphasizing that the potential consequences of these actions should be assessed by a future government of “Tisza”.

The opposition leader accused the authorities of cooperating with russians in order to destabilize the situation and influence public sentiment. In his opinion, this should create an atmosphere of uncertainty ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12. At the same time, he believes that this incident will not lead to the cancellation of the elections and will not affect their outcome.

Péter Magyar also drew attention to the decline in public trust in services, which, in his opinion, is connected with violations identified in recent weeks. He emphasized that any use of this incident in the election campaign will confirm its deliberate nature. In the event that “Tisza” comes to power, Magyar promised to conduct a thorough investigation into this case.

Earlier it was reported that the leader of the Hungarian opposition stated that russia had sent its intelligence officers to interfere in the Hungarian elections.
