"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, prosecutors of the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office have documented 68,540 facts of war crimes. As of today, the enemy has killed 4,681 civilians and injured 8,983 civilians", - the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported on February 24.
As reported, using various types of weapons, the occupiers destroyed or damaged 78,953 civilian infrastructure objects.
In connection with war crimes, 49 individuals have been notified of suspicion. Indictments against 35 of them have already been sent to court, and 2 more have been convicted in absentia.
Among them:
— the commander of one of the armies of the russian armed forces organized massive shelling of Mariupol, in particular the Drama Theater building and a maternity hospital, where civilians were hiding from enemy shelling;
— under the leadership of the so-called head of the "DNR", about 30 thousand tons of metal products from Ukrainian enterprises were seized and illegally exported from the Mariupol seaport, worth more than 700 million hryvnias;
— two servicemen of the russian armed forces gave orders not to leave anyone alive, to rob the dead, and to commit abuse of the bodies of Ukrainian servicemen. In addition, they ordered to cut off the head of a fallen defender and mount it on a stick.
They have been notified of suspicion.
"It is also noted that an indictment has been sent to court against two servicemen of the russian armed forces accused of committing sexual violence against a civilian woman", - the prosecutor’s office added.
