The victim of a shootout at a restaurant in the elite village of Gorki-2 in Moscow turned out to be the head of the Ukrainian Oplot public organization Yevgeniy Zhilin. It is reported by Russian Interfax referring to a source in law enforcement.
"Tonight an unknown offender fired several shots from a pistol at two visitors at Veterok restaurant located in Gorki-2 "on Rublev-Uspensky highway in Moscow suburbs and then disappeared," - said the source.
As a result, he said, a 40-year-old citizen of Ukraine, a member of the Ukrainian Oplot movement Yevgeniy Zhilin, known as a Euromaidan critic died from injuries. His companion, Andrey Kozyrev, was taken to a nearby hospital.
Earlier, another source told Interfax that one person was killed and another one was seriously injured and hospitalized as a result of the shooting at Veterok restaurant.
According to preliminary information, the killer was waiting for their victims at a table in the restaurant and opened fire as soon as they entered the restaurant. After the murder, he went left in a car with the driver that was waiting for him near the restaurant, - said the source.
The report recalls that in August 2015 Security Service of Ukraine in Kharkov region reported on the detention of members of the commando group in Kharkov region that was coordinated and funded by the head of the Oplot organization Yevgeniy Zhilin - former employee of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kharkov region.
