“A new round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will take place on February 17-18. The meeting of delegations will be held in Geneva in a trilateral format with the participation of the United States”, - the kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, DW.Glavnoe reported on February 13.
The russian delegation will be headed by assistant to the russian dictator Vladimir Medinsky.
Reports about the meeting of russia and Ukraine negotiators on February 17-18 were previously also confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but he did not provide details about the location. Following the trilateral talks in early February, russia and Ukraine agreed on the release of prisoners of war.
U.S. representatives previously said that the only unresolved issue in the talks remains russia’s territorial claims, as it demands the withdrawal of Ukrainian Armed Forces from Donbas and recognition of the territories as its own. Kyiv rejects these demands, but as Zelensky said in an interview with The Atlantic published in February, he is ready to consider the possibility of holding a referendum on this issue if the deal suits Ukraine.
