The meeting of delegations of Ukraine, russia, and the United States on a peaceful settlement, originally planned for February 1–2, will take place on February 4–5. This was confirmed by kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on February 2, writes “BBC News. Russian Service” on February 2.
According to Peskov, the date was postponed due to the need for “additional coordination of the schedules of the three parties”.
Shortly before that, the same dates were named by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The meeting was postponed, presumably at the initiative of the United States. Ahead of the second round, U.S. President Donald Trump asked russian president vladimir putin to refrain from new strikes on energy facilities in Kyiv and the region until February 1 amid severe frosts and the consequences of previous massive russian attacks. The kremlin representative did not specify whether the moratorium on strikes against the energy sector is being extended until the start of the new round of talks”, - writes the BBC.
“Talks between putin and Zelensky are possible only in moscow. ...The Ukrainian settlement is a complex, multi-vector process; on some issues it has been possible to move closer to a solution, on others not yet”, - Peskov also stated.
