“This is completely untrue — the only role of the United States in the peace process is to bring both sides together to reach an agreement”, - White House press secretary Anna Kelly said in a comment to the Financial Times, which had earlier published a version claiming the need to hand over Ukrainian territories to russia.
According to her, she regrets that the Financial Times “allows bad actors to anonymously lie in order to undermine the peace process, which is currently in excellent shape following the historic trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi”.
Previously the Financial Times, citing an informed source in the White House, wrote that security guarantees would depend on Kyiv’s prior consent to fulfill the kremlin’s demand — the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the non-occupied part of Donbas.
