The only realistic “peace plan” is the destruction of the russian economy and the collapse of the russian federation – military expert Roman Svitan
Ukraine is not in a critical military situation, but it needs an immediate strengthening of the defense management system and a reboot of the executive branch. Military expert Roman Svitan stated this in a comment to OstroV.
According to Svitan, the main problem is not the front line, but an ineffective and corrupt executive power, which must be replaced to shift the country to a wartime governance mode.
“Right now the problem is the corrupt executive branch. It must be changed. The Verkhovna Rada can dismiss the government within 24 hours. The next day, officers of the strategic level — colonels and generals trained in state governance during wartime — must be brought into power”, - the expert said.
Roman Svitan emphasized that the shortage of personnel remains a key risk and that a new executive branch formed from military professionals will be able to quickly reinforce the army.
“Only a government formed from people with basic military education can put the country on military rails. Then a hypothetical prime minister will be able to give orders to the Minister of Internal Affairs, and 30–50% of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ personnel — that is 100–150 thousand people — can be directed to form combat units”, - he explained.
According to him, such a decision will allow the situation on the front line to stabilize quickly.
“After that, there will be no problems on the front line: a ‘kill zone’ of 10–50 km will be created depending on the range of our strike systems. And at the same time air defense, the Air Force, the Navy, intelligence, the SSU, foreign and border intelligence will work on the enemy’s rear, as they have been doing for the last four months”, - the expert said.
Svitan stressed that strikes on the russian economy can create the conditions for the internal collapse of the russian federation.
“After the destruction of the economy — and that will take a year to a year and a half — russia will begin to fall apart from within, like the USSR. If the flow of oil dollars to moscow is cut off, 21 republics of the russian federation will go into ‘free sailing’. And we will forget about the russian federation”, - he stated.
The expert emphasized that this is the only realistic “peace plan” capable of ensuring security in Ukraine and Europe.
