“European leaders on November 20 spoke out against the provisions of the new U.S. peace plan. It is being developed by Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, who is consulting with Kirill Dmitriev, putin’s special representative for economic cooperation with foreign countries, but is not discussing settlement options with representatives of Ukraine”, - reports the Telegram channel The Moscow Times.

“We, Europeans, have always supported a strong and just peace and welcome any efforts aimed at achieving it”, - said EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas before a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels. “For any plan to work, it must be supported by Ukrainians and Europeans”.

Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s foreign minister, spoke more sharply: “Peace cannot mean capitulation. We do not want the capitulation of Ukrain”. Negotiations for a lasting peace “must begin with a ceasefire along the line of contact, which will allow all further negotiations on territory and security guarantees,” Barrot added.

As reported, the U.S. plan to end the war in Ukraine includes the surrender of territories, reduction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the abandonment of certain types of weapons.
