“Police detained the killer of Andrii Parubiy. He had been preparing for a long time, watching, planning, and finally pulled the trigger. It took us only 36 hours to track him down and detain him”, - reported the head of the National Police Ivan Vyhovsky on September 1.
He reminded that on August 30 in the Sykhiv district of Lviv, the criminal disguised himself as a courier and opened fire on the politician in broad daylight.
“Eight shots. Cold-blooded cruelty. He even made sure the victim was dead. And then he tried to cover his tracks — changed clothes, got rid of the weapon, attempted to hide in the Khmelnytsky oblast. But he failed to escape. The round-the-clock work of the Lviv police and the central police office paid off — the daring killer has been detained, and the necessary evidence has been collected”, - wrote Vyhovsky.
“We know: this crime is not accidental. There is a russian trace in it. Everyone will answer before the law”, - he added.
As reported earlier, the suspect in Parubiy’s murder was detained in the Khmelnytsky oblast: the SBU revealed details.
