This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram on August 7.
"I spoke with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Ukraine and Germany equally see the need to end the war as soon as possible with a just peace, and the parameters for ending this war will define the security conditions for Europe for decades. The war is happening in Europe, and Ukraine is an integral part of Europe; we are already in negotiations to join the European Union. That is why Europe must be a participant in the relevant processes.
We coordinated our positions with Germany. Agreed to talk again with Friedrich. Security advisors will hold an online meeting today to align our common views – of Ukraine, all of Europe, and the United States", - Zelensky said.
According to him, various potential formats of peace-focused meetings at the leadership level were also discussed yesterday: two bilateral formats, and one trilateral.
"Ukraine is not afraid of meetings and expects the same courageous approach from russia. It’s time to end the war. Thank you to everyone who is helping!" - Zelensky emphasized.
Earlier, Zelensky announced talks with European colleagues and national security advisors after his conversation with Trump.
