On August 6, Karol Nawrocki was officially sworn in as President of the Republic of Poland. The ceremony took place during a session of the National Assembly. After reciting the oath, Nawrocki officially assumed the office of head of state, reports Polskie Radio.

Nawrocki won the second round of the presidential election held on June 1, 2025, receiving 50.89% of the vote. He ran as an independent candidate with the support of the Law and Justice party. His opponent was the mayor of Warsaw and candidate from the Civic Coalition, Rafal Trzaskowski, who received 49.11% of the vote.

Immediately after the National Assembly session, the new president, together with his wife Marta Nawrocka, held his first official meeting with the presidiums of the Sejm and the Senate.

The culmination of the day will be Karol Nawrocki assuming supreme command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. At 16:30, on Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square, he will deliver his first presidential address and oversee a military parade.
