The second wave of russia’s summer offensive in eastern Ukraine began prematurely, even before the harvest was completed. Military expert Roman Svitan stated this in a comment to OstroV.

"This is already the second wave of the offensive, and it actually started earlier than planned. This wave was supposed to begin after the harvest was completed, because during the harvest season, fuel consumption in russia is about the same as in their army. But due to political pressure, particularly from Trump, they launched the second wave earlier — about three weeks ahead of schedule", - he explained.

According to Roman Svitan, this caused a fuel shortage in Crimea and some regions of the russian federation.

"This overlap — between the offensive and harvest season — led to a shortage of diesel. They started the offensive even before stockpiling resources", - he noted.

The expert warned that the main threat of this wave is the russian advance on the eastern front: "This is not about a new large-scale invasion, but about a creeping offensive that could give them tactical advantages".
