Deputy chairman of russia’s security council Dmitry Medvedev stated that American President Donald Trump needs to stop speaking to russia in the language of ultimatums, as each such demand brings the US closer to war, "The Moscow Times” Telegram channel reports.
According to him, the head of the White House should remember that russia is not Israel or Iran to be treated in such a way. “Trump is playing ultimatums with Russia: 50 days or 10… Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step toward war. Not between russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don’t follow the path of Sleepy Joe!”, - Medvedev wrote on X.
The post was answered by the author of the law on “hellish sanctions” against russia, Senator Lindsey Graham. “To those in russia who think President Trump isn’t serious about ending the bloodshed between russia and Ukraine: you and your patrons are going to be gravely mistaken very soon… Sit down at the negotiating table”, - he retorted.
After that, Medvedev addressed Graham, stating that neither he nor Trump had the right to “dictate when to ‘sit down at the negotiating table’”. “Negotiations will end when all the objectives of our military operation are achieved. Mind your own country first, grandpa!”, - the deputy chairman of the security council added.
Let us recall that on July 28, Trump stated that he was “very disappointed” in russian president putin, who launched a new offensive and continues to strike Ukraine instead of declaring a ceasefire. The American leader noted that he was shortening the 50-day ultimatum announced on July 14: now putin has a maximum of 12 days to make peace.
