Russian occupiers struck Ukrainian rescuers, killing and injuring them on their professional holiday, Rescuer's Day, on September 17. This was reported by Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, on Telegram.

"On the professional holiday of rescuers, russians struck them with artillery and aerial bombs", - Klymenko said.

In particular, on the morning of September 17, the occupiers shelled a village in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk oblast. As a result of the attack, one rescuer was killed.

Later, they dropped aerial bombs on Kharkiv. Currently, it is known that four rescuers were injured—they were extinguishing a fire in a forest strip at the time of the attack. Three of them are in critical condition.
