German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy Robert Habeck arrived in Kyiv on April 18. This was reported by the German national news agency Tagesschau.

"Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck arrived for a visit to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. He is accompanied by a business delegation. The focus of the visit is recent russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, assistance in emergency situations, strengthening the Ukrainian economy, and economic relations with Germany", - the statement said.

It is noted that during his visit, Habeck also wants to prepare for the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, which will take place in Berlin in June. Upon arrival, Habeck stated that the visit comes at a time when Ukraine needs all possible support in the fight for freedom.

"And this is a fight for freedom. Yes, Ukraine is fighting for its own self-determination, for its territorial integrity against putin's aggression, but it is also fighting for the values that unite and characterize Europe", - the Vice Chancellor's words are quoted.

It is noted that in Kyiv, Habeck plans to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, and Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko.

Afterward, Habeck will travel to Moldova, where he plans to meet, among others, with Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
