In the Black Sea, a civilian ship flying the flag of Panama was damaged by a russian mine explosion. The vessel was heading to load grain at one of the Danube ports. This information was reported by the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces on Telegram on December 28.

"The ship lost speed and control, and a fire broke out on the upper deck. To prevent flooding, the captain grounded the ship", - the message notes.

Coast Guard boats and search and rescue services brought medics on board and immediately provided assistance to the crew.

Upon inspecting the ship and interviewing the captain, two sailors with injuries were discovered.

"One received assistance on-site, and the second injured, accompanied by medics, was transported to the nearest hospital for further examination. His condition is satisfactory", - added the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Tugs have been directed to the ship to refloat it and transport it to port.

It's worth noting that previously a russian missile hit the superstructure of a civilian ship flying the flag of Liberia.
