Russian soldiers are increasingly refusing to continue assaults and are surrendering in organized groups to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Tavria direction. This was reported by Oleksandr Shtupun, the spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction, during a national Ukrainian TV news marathon on December 25.

According to him, on this front line, the occupiers are concentrating their main efforts on the Avdiivka, Marinka, and Zaporizhzhia directions. Approximately 40 assaults were repelled here in the last day.

"There is information that an increasing number of occupiers refuse to participate in assault actions. In particular, this is recorded in units of the 1st Army Corps of the russian Armed Forces. It should be noted that entire groups of russian servicemen have begun to surrender. Over the past three days, one group was captured in a brief battle, and another surrendered without a fight. The groups are small, but there are more of them", - Shtupun explained.

Among the reasons for the mass surrender, the spokesperson cites the inhumane treatment of russian commanders towards their soldiers. Officers strip them naked in the cold and throw them into pits, where they are beaten and threatened with execution for refusing to participate in assaults.

As reported, russians force prisoners in the "LNR" to join the Storm-Z units, threatening reprisals in case of refusal.
