Moldova has extended the period of temporary protection for Ukrainians for another year. This information is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Moldovan government.

"The period of providing temporary protection to displaced persons from Ukraine will be extended for another year, starting from March 1, 2024, and ending on March 1, 2025", - the statement said.

It is noted that the protection will be automatically extended, just like the validity period of the identity document of the recipient.

Individuals benefiting from temporary protection in Moldova will have the right to work in the country without obtaining a temporary residence permit for employment, provided they are registered with the territorial branch of the National Employment Agency within the area where they reside.

Currently, there are over 116,000 displaced persons from Ukraine in Moldova. Almost 39,000 of them have undergone preliminary registration to receive temporary protection, and more than 30,000 have already obtained identity documents.

Previously, the United States has extended the possibility of stay for Ukrainians using humanitarian parole for two years.
