Sixteen-year-old son of the head of Chechnya, Adam Kadyrov, has been appointed as the curator of the Sheikh Mansur Battalion, according to reports in the russian media.

He was pre-emptively awarded the battalion's accolade - the star named after the first imam of the Caucasus, Sheikh Mansur.

Earlier, Adam Kadyrov assumed the position of the head of his father's security service. Over the past few months, the son of the head of Chechnya has received around ten awards, including orders from Tatarstan and Karachay-Cherkessia.

According to russian State Duma deputy Delimkhanov, the new appointment and awarding of Kadyrov Jr. is a "logical result of Adam's significant merits in defending the religious, family, and cultural values of our people".

It was reported earlier that the main achievement of the heir to the Chechen leader was the beating of a defenseless inmate in the Grozny detention center.
