U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III, who arrived in Kyiv for a visit, believes that Ukrainian soldiers are prepared for winter combat and have the necessary means for success. Austin made these remarks during a briefing in Kyiv on Monday evening, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
"I believe they (the Ukrainian forces) are ready for winter combat, and, of course, they did a great deal of work last year", - Austin said.
The Minister added that the recently announced U.S. military aid package of $100 million, in particular, includes winter gear.
"So, yes, they have all the means they will need to succeed in battles during winter. And I think I agree with President Zelensky that the right decision is to continue pressing, continue the fight against the enemy", - Austin stated.
