German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is willing to continue dialogue with the russian dictator putin, but negotiations between Ukraine and russia are possible only under one condition. The Chancellor stated this in an interview with the Heilbronner Stimme newspaper, as reported by the "DW Glavnoe" Telegram channel.
"In the current situation it is necessary to talk with him (putin), as I have done in the past and will continue to do in the future", - said the German Chancellor.
However, he noted that, for the commencement of peaceful negotiations with Ukraine, russia must demonstrate serious intentions.
"A decisive step is needed from russia: the withdrawal of troops from Ukrainian territories. And this is something that russia, evidently, is not ready for at the moment", - emphasized the Chancellor.
As previously reported, Scholz promised Ukraine an air defense protection against russian attacks on energy and heating infrastructure.
