Ukroboronprom has commenced serial production of a new Ukrainian kamikaze drone, which is an equivalent to the Iranian Shahed drones. The statement was made by the General Director of the Ukroboronprom, Herman Smetanin, to the Economic Truth publication, as reported by the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Telegram channel.
According to Smetanin, the new unmanned aircraft's maximum combat range is 1000 kilometers. The head of the enterprise claims that this range is significantly greater than that of the Iranian Shahed, which the russian army uses in the war against Ukraine.
"We are currently focused on manufacturing more complex and costly projects with high performance", - Smetanin stated.
It has been previously reported that the Ukrainian enterprise Antonov is expanding its drone production.
