Vitalii Barabash, the head of the city's military administration, discussed the situation in Avdiivka, stating that despite massive losses, russian forces continue their ongoing assaults on Avdiivka in the Donetsk oblast. Barabash made this statement during a national Ukrainian TV news marathon on October 23rd.
"Heavy gunfights persist around the clock. The russians are deploying substantial forces with infantry and armored vehicles, incurring insane losses, but that doesn't deter them. The assaults continue. They charge in relentlessly, lie low in large numbers, and then resume their attacks after a while. There are a great number of them", - he said.
Barabash also noted that in recent days, the enemy has reduced their use of armored vehicles due to increased humidity.
At the same time, intense battles continued around the city over the past 24 hours, with numerous enemy shelling incidents and aerial bombardments.
As previously reported, an evacuation is planned for Avdiivka, where 1,600 people are still residing.
