The meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council began in Kyiv on October 2nd. This was announced by the High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
According to his statement, the meeting is informal as it is taking place outside the EU.
"Today, I am convening the EU foreign ministers in Kyiv for the first-ever meeting of all 27 member states outside the EU. Ukraine's future is in the EU. We are here to express our solidarity and support for the Ukrainian people", - wrote Borrell.
He described the meeting as high-level political discussions aimed at finding ways to assist Ukraine and counter russian aggression.
It was previously reported that Borrell announced preparations for long-term security commitments for Ukraine.
