On December 15th the European Commission will give a positive recommendation regarding the liberalization of the visa regime for Ukraine and Georgia. This was stated by the European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn before the meeting of the Council of the European Union (EU) on Foreign Affairs - reported Ukrinform.

"This week we will receive positive reports and recommendations on issues of visa liberalization", - said Khan on the reports of the European Commission on progress in the implementation of the action plan on visa liberalization by Georgia and Ukraine.

In his turn, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius expressed his views about the positive prospects for the abolition of visas for Ukrainians and Georgians. He noted that Ukraine and Georgia made progress on the issue of visa-free dialogue.

The Lithuanian Minister also noted that the decision on the extension of the EU sanctions against Russia will be made by consensus.
