President Volodymyr Zelensky has vetoed bill No. 9534 on the restoration of income declaration by officials and MPs, which keeps the registers closed for another year. He announced this in an address on September 12, published on Telegram.

"This morning, a law came from the Verkhovna Rada that maintained restrictions on electronic declarations. These restrictions are unacceptable. Declarations must be open. Immediately. Not in a year. The register should be opened right now. In fact, with this main amendment, the law should be passed. Preferably quickly", - he said.

As reported, a petition demanding the veto of bill No. 9534, which keeps officials' declarations closed, gathered over 25,000 votes in record time.
