Ukrainian defense forces have now liberated a total of 49 square kilometers near Bakhmut, with two of those kilometers reclaimed in the past week. This information was reported by Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar during a Ukrainian national TV news marathon on September 11th.

According to her statement, the epicenter of the combat actions was in Klishchiivka, where the enemy was putting up resistance. At the same time, Ukrainian forces are advancing in the area of Andriivka. Russian forces also attempted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Avdiivka and Marinka.

"On the Bakhmut direction, we achieved success in the Klishchiivka and Andriivka areas, where we pushed the enemy out of their positions. There have been some advances as well. Over the past week, the liberated territory in that area amounted to about 2 square kilometers. In total, near Bakhmut, 49 square kilometers have already been liberated", - said Maliar.

She also noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted a successful operation south of Avdiivka during the week, taking control of a part of Opytne. They also had partial success in the Novomaiorsk area of the Volnovakha district, where they are consolidating their positions along the achieved lines.

As previously reported, the Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive in the Melitopol direction and have achieved success south of Robotyne.
