Military Prosecutor’s Office detained five border guards who organized a system of taking bribes from people for passing Mayorsk checkpoint without standing in the queue. It was announced by the Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoliy Matios on his Facebook page.
"This flow ... And not trucks but 200 UAH per each car every day," - wrote Matios.
He said that "the cynical and systematic scheme of receiving daily "bribes" by Bakhmut Air Force soldiers of Kramatorsk border guard detachment in the ATO area" was stopped on Wednesday night.
"The border guards "took money" like on an assembly line for passing Mayorsk checkpoint without standing in the queue from people who go to temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. They sold their dignity for 200 UAH, made demarcation line the machine for "making money"," - wrote Matios.
While documenting the crime, "head of the Bakhmut Border Service Major M. was caught red-handed and arrested on suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 Article 368 Criminal Code (bribery) after receiving such unlawful amount of 43 thousand hryvnia from subordinate unit, money was seized."
During searches of the place of residence of the militaries of the border guard shifts nearly 600 thousand hryvnia were seized.
"We are documenting, preparing protocols detention of at least 5 guards," - said Matios.
