The advancement of our troops on the Bakhmut front is the first success of the offensive operations to defend Bakhmut. This was announced by the commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, according to a statement by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Telegram.
According to Syrsky, "the last few days have shown that we can move forward and destroy the enemy even in such extremely complex conditions".
"We are fighting with fewer resources than the enemy, but we are still able to disrupt his plans. All of this is thanks to our fighters who are fighting the aggressor, pushing beyond the limits of human capabilities. However, this is only a partial success, and that's how it should be perceived. The operation to defend Bakhmut continues, and all necessary decisions for the defense have been made", - emphasized the commander.
"We have worked out all possible scenarios with the commanders directly on the battlefield", - he added.
As previously reported, according the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar "everything is very difficult in Bakhmut and the surrounding areas".
