The French anti-terrorism prosecutor's office opened an investigation into the death of AFP journalist Arman Soldin in Ukraine as a war crime, according to France24, LB.ua cites.
The prosecutor's office stated that a specialized investigative unit that deals with crimes against humanity and hate crimes will be in charge of the investigation. Investigators will attempt to establish the exact circumstances surrounding Soldin's death.
As previously reported, the journalist was killed in rocket attack near Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk oblast. He and his colleagues came under russian Grad missile fire while with Ukrainian military personnel.
