Old printed Apostle by Ivan Fedorov in 1574 disappeared on May 10th from the department of old and rare books of the National Library of Ukraine named after Vernadsky. It is reported by Radio Svoboda.
"We are in contact with the investigation agencies, but we are not going to disclose the details,", - said the director of the library Vladimir Popik. According to him, criminal proceedings were opened on this case.
The press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kiev said that they didn’t receive the statement about the disappearance of the old printed book.
Apostle is of great scientific and historical value, the first printed book in Ukraine. We know about existence of more than 90 copies of this edition. The book contains the Old Church Slavonic translation for Acts and Epistles of the Apostles.
