The UN General Assembly is ready to adopt a peace resolution from Ukraine and its allies. This was reported on February 23 by Reuters.

This is a resolution that emphasizes the need to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace as soon as possible in accordance with the founding Charter of the United Nations. Ukraine and its supporters hope to deepen russia’s diplomatic isolation.

"We will see where the nations of the world stand on the matter of peace in Ukraine", - U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield stated.

It is noted that marking one year of war, Ukraine and russia "lobbied countries at the United Nations" for backing ahead of a vote that the United States declared will "go down in history".

It is noted that the draft UN resolution reflects last year’s demand of the General Assembly for moscow to withdraw troops and cease hostilities. Although such a resolution is not binding, it has political weight.

Finally, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told reporters that Ukraine was exercising its right to self-defense, enshrined in the UN Charter, and that "by sending weapons to Ukraine, you are helping to defend the UN Charter".

Let us recall that earlier, Zelensky told about the date of voting for the Ukrainian "peace formula" at the UN.
