The deficit of the state budget of russia in January 2023 amounted to 1.76 trillion rubles, or almost $25 billion. This was reported by the ministry of finance of the russian federation on February 6.

As reported, russia’s oil and gas revenues in January decreased by 46% compared to the same month last year, which is explained by lower oil prices and a decrease in natural gas exports.
In addition, in January 2023, russia earned only 426 billion rubles, or $6 billion, from the sale of gas and oil, compared to 795 billion rubles in January last year.
