The Ukrainian Defense Forces have destroyed 47 out of 55 russian cruise and guided aircraft missiles, three more missiles did not reach their targets. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense with reference to the Command of the Air Force of the AFU.
It is noted that on January 26, the enemy launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. This time, the occupiers used high-accuracy air and sea-launched missiles: Kh-47 Kinzhal - from two MiG-31K aircraft; X-101/X-555 air-launched cruise missiles - from six Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea; Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles - from ships and submarines from the Black Sea.
In general, the enemy carried out 55 launches of various missiles (up to 2 Kh-47 Kinzhal, up to 40 X-101/X-555 missiles, up to 9 Kalibr missiles and 4 X-59).
"The forces and means of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with units of other components of the Defense Forces, destroyed 47 cruise and guided aircraft missiles. In addition, three out of four X-59 guided aircraft missiles did not reach their targets. Anti-aircraft missile troops, fighter aircraft and mobile fire groups of the Air Force were involved in the air battle, in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces", - the message said.
