Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has stated that he has a proposal from the political leadership of Ukraine to conclude a non-aggression pact. The dictator stated this during one of the working meetings. This was reported by the BelTa Belarusian agency.
Lukashenko is convinced that the "collective West" intends to attack Belarus, so the country needs to be ready for defense.
“I don’t know why the Ukrainians are doing this. On the one hand, they ask us not to fight with Ukraine in any case, so that our troops don’t move there. They suggest signing a non-aggression pact. And on the other hand, they prepare this explosive mixture and arm them. Poland and Lithuania generally went mad. Why do they need it? It’s not clear", - Lukashenko stated.
The kremlin did not comment on the information that Ukraine offered Belarus to conclude a non-aggression pact. Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that so far, he does not have such information.
As previously reported, Lukashenko came to russia in December for a multi-day visit.
