U.S. President Joe Biden stated there are two reasons why the USA is not giving Ukraine everything it wants to defeat russia. Biden stated this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on December 21.
"Why don't we give Ukraine everything they want us to give? For two reasons. There is a whole Alliance for which it is important to support Ukraine since it is about the unity of decisions of the NATO bloc). Another reason is that some Western politicians do not want to go to war, considering that such a transfer would provoke an escalation with russia, and do not want to start World War III. This can be achieved by ensuring that Ukraine wins on the battlefield", - Biden stated.
According to the U.S. president, he has spent and continues to spend hundreds of hours in conversations with leaders of other countries to convince them to provide military assistance to Ukraine.
"The President of Ukraine should not worry - we will not leave Ukraine and will help it win", - the U.S. President summed up.
Let us recall that on Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken officially announced a new $1.85 billion military assistance package for Ukraine, which provides for the first time for the transfer of the Patriot air defense system.
