More than 2 thousand people were evacuated from the Donbas during the first 7 days of mandatory evacuation of the civilian population. This was reported by the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine in Telegram on August 6.
"The mandatory evacuation of the civilian population from Donbas, announced by the Government, has begun. Over 2 thousand citizens have been evacuated in the first week, including women, children, the elderly and people with limited mobility. Some citizens are even evacuated with their pets. Let us recall that the Coordinating Headquarters for the evacuation from the Donbas is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk", - the ministry noted.
As reported, the government of Ukraine introduced a mandatory evacuation of residents of the non-occupied areas of the Donetsk oblast before the start of the heating season. Officials warned that the war zones were likely to lack heating, gas, and electricity.
