Following the third meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group in Brussels, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand announced the transfer to Kyiv of 10 replacement barrels for M777 howitzers worth 9 million Canadian dollars (nearly 7 million U.S. dollars). The Ministry of Defense of Canada reported this on Wednesday, - European Pravda writes.

"The purchase of 10 ready-to-use replaceable barrels for M777 howitzers will guarantee their range and accuracy, since worn barrels need to be replaced regularly. This support is in line with maintaining Ukraine's critical capabilities provided by allies and partners", - the department noted.

The Canadian Ministry of Defense recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by Russia, it has provided Ukraine with safe assistance in the amount of 274 million Canadian dollars (212.5 million U.S. dollars), namely M777 howitzers, more than 20 thousand artillery ammunition and training of the Ukrainian military.

As it is known, on the third meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format was held in Brussels on Wednesday.

As a result, Slovakia decided to transfer combat helicopters to Ukraine, and Canada, Poland and the Netherlands - new artillery units.
