The number of dead and wounded as a result of the shelling of the central part of Kharkiv by russian troops on May 26 has increased. This was reported by adviser to the chairman of the regional council Natalia Popova on her Facebook.
"Ten people were injured, including a child. Five people died during today's russian shelling of the center of Kharkiv", - Popova wrote.
As reported, as of 15:25, it was known about 4 dead and 7 wounded as a result of a strike by russian troops on Kharkiv. The regional administration urged Kharkiv residents to stay in shelters because of the threat of shelling.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov commented on the situation as follows: "We will not stop the movement of the subway trains, but we will allocate special sectors where people can stay and wait out the bombardment".
The russians launched several attacks on the Kharkiv region over the past day, as a result of which two civilians were killed and 15 were injured.
