President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has called on businessmen and politicians who left the country to return to Ukraine in the next 24 hours, as this is "an important moment of the country's unity". He made this statement at a joint briefing with the German Chancellor in Kyiv on Monday, - Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"I would focus on our management and our country, on the people who today, some of them, are abroad, deputies of some parties, I do not even want to name them, you all understand what kind of people they are. I think this is a serious challenge. I think that we should give them a signal – a fair one. First of all, from the Verkhovna Rada, from the speaker, from the state and on my own behalf, I would like to ask them to bring one of their relatives within 24 hours, so that they still return to the country", - the head of state said.
He stressed that this is an important moment, "the moment of the unity of our country."
"My family is always with me, always with Ukraine. I am the president, my wife is not just a wife: she is the first lady. And she should give an example how families should behave. This is not necessary… but this is very important for the country and for the society", - Zelensky assured.
