Ex-President Petro Poroshenko, who was handed over suspicion of treason in absentia the day before, has stated that he was now in Poland and would return to Ukraine in January. He posted the corresponding video message on his pages in social networks.
Poroshenko noted that yesterday, today and tomorrow, he works in Warsaw, where he holds meetings with the aim of forming a powerful coalition to help Ukraine fight the Russian aggressor.
For the first time after being handed over suspicion of high treason, he commented on the situation.
"They send me greetings from the President's Office that they would be sympathetic if I stayed in Europe. I want to emphasize that I will not give them such a gift and will return in the first half of January, but according to my own schedule", - he noted.
He also called the suspicion announced to him a crossing over of the "red lines", for which "there will be the need to answer". Upon his return to Kyiv, Poroshenko promised to talk on the topic "who is the state traitor and the terrorists' accomplice".
As previously reported, ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko was signed a charge sheet of high treason. The proceedings are being investigated under Part 1 and Part 3 of Art. 258-5 (financing of terrorism), Part 1 of Srt. 111 (high treason) and Part 1 of Art. 258-3 (creation of a terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspicion concerns the case of coal supplies from the temporarily occupied territories of the Donbas in 2014-2015. On December 17, the investigators of the SBI tried to serve a summons to the 5th President, but as the bureau claimed, he ignored them, after which he left in an unknown direction. After that, Poroshenko's press service announced that he went on a diplomatic tour to Turkey and Poland.
