Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that Russian citizens live in the occupied Donbas. He told this to journalists.

It was about the so-called "new Russians" artificially and illegally granted citizenship of the Russian Federation.

"As for the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, our citizens live there. Our citizens have the right to vote wherever they live. And the duty of the state is to provide them with such an opportunity".

As previously reported, in the election to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the ruling in the Russian Federation United Russia party intends to secure the votes of Ukrainian citizens, who have received passports of the foreign country on an expedited basis by decree of Vladimir Putin.
