Representatives of the Union of Donbass Volunteers, which unites Russian mercenaries who fought in the Donbas, intend to participate in the straw vote of United Russia in the elections to the State Duma. This is said in the message of the ruling party in the Russian Federation.
In the opinion of United Russia members, the people who killed Ukrainians "should be represented in the legislative bodies of power at all levels".
"We want to open the doors so that representatives of the Union of Donbass Volunteers (UDV) could be represented at various levels, ranging from village councils of deputies, district assemblies, city councils, regional parliaments and the State Duma. I am sure we will succeed together", - the Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia stated at a meeting of the so-called Council of Commanders of the UDV, which took place in Rostov-on-Don.
In turn, head of the organization of Russian mercenaries Alexander Borodai reported that the UDV would go to the upcoming elections together with the United Russia party, also because it, as the ruling party, reflects the central ideas of Russian society.
"United Russia is the party of President Vladimir Putin. We owe the preservation of the republics that arose in the spring of 2014 to the President of the Russian Federation. Therefore, we have a special duty and special responsibilities to him. Naturally, we are ready to support Putin's party", - he said.
As expected, residents of the occupied Donbas who received Russian passports under an accelerated program will vote for candidates to the State Duma from Russian terrorists.
As previously reported, United Russia and the Union of Donbass Volunteers signed an agreement on cooperation on May 10. It provides for the participation of the UDV in the political activities of the party and joint humanitarian projects.
"The goals and objectives of United Russia and the Union of Donbass Volunteers (UDV) are the same. This is the preservation of the Russian world, the Russian language and the Russian genetic code", - Andrey Turchak stated following a meeting of the UDV Commanders Council in Rostov-on-Don.
