Ukraine does not rule out the scenario of invasion of the Russian troops from the territory of the occupied Crimea, but our country is ready for tough resistance. This was stated by head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group Leonid Kravchuk on the air of the Dom TV channel.
"We must be ready for anything. I will be frank and want everyone to hear me: there is such a record in the main document of Russia on foreign policy: "Ukraine was, is and will be in the system of strategic interests of Russia". That is, they do not see Ukraine as a separate state. They see Ukraine as some kind of subordinate territory. I do not know, maybe, as a province. I do not even know how they understand it", - Kravchuk said.
According to him, in the current situation, it is necessary to proceed from the fact that Russia does not respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. This means that any actions can be expected from the aggressor country - "both aggression and escalation of the conflict".
"We cannot assert: no, this will not happen. If such a philosophy exists (and it exists and is recorded in the main strategic document of the Russian Federation), then everything can be. Therefore, we must be ready for this. I want everyone to understand - Ukraine is preparing for any scenario, including attempts at aggression and expansion of aggression. For any scenario", - the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG stated.
Kravchuk stated that today Ukraine "is not at all what it was five or six years ago". "I am sure that if Russia dares to expand its aggression, it will meet quite tough resistance from Ukraine. And not only from Ukraine. The international community, as stated by many countries and the USA in particular, will not allow Russia to behave the way it acted before. We will put Russia in the framework of international law", - Leonid Kravchuk noted.
