The President's Office has called holding of fair elections after the de-occupation of Donbas one of the most important tasks. This was stated by adviser to the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

He believes that the residents of Donbas understand that the Russian world will not lead to a good life.

"The Donbas has received an excellent vaccination. He now clearly understands that the Russian world is necessarily some kind of hole, uncompetitive conditions, a sharp regression in living standards and absolute hopelessness", - Podoliak stated.

The President's Office noted that now it is necessary to solve two main tasks.

"The first one is to hold elections that are really competitive, with closed borders from the influence of the Russian Federation. And the second one… If Russian crass propaganda stops working in the Donbas to the extent that it works today. Then the Donbas will quickly and clearly show which side it is on ideologically and I think that the Crimea could already show this taking into account the processes that are taking place there", - the adviser to the head of the President's Office reported.

Podoliak added that there is still a very significant "foreign media propaganda influence" in Ukraine now.

As previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky imposed sanctions against the 112, NewsOne and Zik channels, which belong to people's deputy Taras Kozak, who is an associate of people's deputy Viktor Medvedchuk. According to the president, the channels were engaged in propaganda and were financed by the aggressor country.
