The Ministry of Health is not going to cancel or postpone the strict quarantine in Ukraine, which is scheduled from January 8 to 24. This was announced by Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov at a briefing in Kyiv today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.
"On the introduction of strict quarantine from January 8 to 24: many are asking the question whether we are going to postpone or cancel quarantine as the number of cases is falling …. we believe that it needs to be introduced and we are not going to make changes on the part of the Ministry of Health", - he stated.
According to him, the Ministry of Health predicts an increase in the number of patients after the New Year holidays.
In addition, the minister noted, a seasonal flu outbreak is also expected from the end of January.
"It is very important for us to approach this with the maximum reduction of the load on the medical system and the minimum number of patients with COVID-19", - Stepanov said.
As previously reported, the Cabinet of Ministers established on December 9 that enhanced quarantine measures in Ukraine would operate from January 8 to 24.
