Ukraine will not be able to end the war in the Donbass, if it does not negotiate with the Russian Federation. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to Politico Europe on October 3, - the President's Office reports.
Commenting on the journalist's remark that the Ukrainians want Zelensky to end the war, but "when they hear that you are starting to talk with Russia, they actually consider you a traitor", Volodymyr Zelensky explained his position that it is impossible to stop the war without talking with the leader of the Russian Federation.
"I would make a point here quite correctly: what do you mean saying that the President of Ukraine does not want to speak with the President of Russia, and who exactly spreads information in the media that Ukraine should not speak with Russia. I am sure that we will never stop the war, if we do not speak with Russia. The support of our Western partners is a separate case. But if we do not speak with President Putin, we will not be able to fully restore Ukraine's sovereignty and return all our territories", - the head of state noted.
