Leader of the "DHR" Denis Pushilin has ordered to call Donetsk "Stalino city" on memorable dates. This is stated in his "decree".

"I decide to establish the name "Stalino city" as a symbol of the city of Donetsk, used along with the name "Donetsk city" when conducting republican and city events dedicated to memorable dates in the history of the "DNR" and the city of Donetsk associated with the Great Patriotic War", - the decree says.

Pushilin specified that Donetsk will be called Stalino on May 9, June 22 (Memorial Day) and September 8 (Day of the Donbass Liberation).

The city of Yuzovka was called Slalino from 1929 to 1961. After the de-Stalinization, the city became known as Donetsk.

As previously reported, a similar "decree" was signed by the "LNR" leader Leonid Pasechnik, ordering to call Luhansk Voroshilovgrad.
