The pseudo-patriotic public of the occupied part of Donetsk oblast was indignant at the fact that the Oplot separatist television channel broadcast the match of the Europa League of Donetsk Shakhtar and Portuguese Benfica. This was reported by "director" of the so-called "State Information Policy Department of the DNR Ministry of Information" Maya Pirogova in her Telegram channel.
According to Pirogova, during the broadcast of the Shakhtar and Benfica football match, representatives of the "public" began to send messages to her, outraged by the fact that Shakhtar were playing at Oplot.
"Maya, please comment the live broadcast of the Shakhtar Donetsk team on the Oplot2 channel right now on your telegram channel. What is this, in general???", - Pirogova quoted the message sent to her.
"They asked the question in PM. I did not see it last night, I answer today: Yesterday, the Oplot TV channel broadcasted the Shakhtar and Benfica match live, relaying the RUSSIAN MATCH TV CHANNEL. The football is outside politics for Russians, it was not Russia which decided to make a field for political games out of football", - Maya Pirogova wrote.
The football match between Shakhtar and Benfica ended in a 2-1 victory for the Donetsk club.
As previously reported, the Donetsk Shakhtar team is one of the prides for the residents of Donbass. The club moved to the free territory of Ukraine after the start of the Russian occupation. The separatist propaganda is trying to position FC Shakhtar as a "collective traitor to the Donbass" and discredit the publicly loved club in every possible way.
